3 Series E46 316i (N42) TOUR
Rotate eccentric shaft (1) at hexagon as shown in illustration
back to minimum stroke position.
Fit special tool 11 9 302 as illustrated and screw down with
special tool 11 9 303 in inlet camshaft.
Note:
Special tool 11 9 302 secures inlet camshaft with bearing
bracket (1).
Unscrew knurled screw (2).
Secure special tool 11 9 301 with screw (1) on eccentric shaft.
Align special tool 11 9 301 to inlet camshaft.
Install knurled screw (2) without play.
Tighten screw (1).
Gently pretension knurled screw (2) by hand.
Important!
Before removing the bearing bracket, it is essential to secure
the intermediate levers against slipping out.
Attach special tool 11 9 310 at bottom in opening to
intermediate lever and at bottom to oil spray line.
