3 Series E46 316i (N42) TOUR
Unscrew hollow union bolt.
Push oil line (1) for lubricating exhaust camshaft approx. 20 mm
towards rear.
Turn back special tool 11 9 293 .
Remove special tools 11 9 291 and 11 9 292 .
Note:
Illustration with engine removed.
Rotate eccentric shaft (1) at hexagon as illustrated in order to
reduce tension on torsion spring (2).
Pretension torsion spring (2) with a cable strap (1), feed out
from roller (3) and carefully relieve tension.
