Version 1:

Rotate balancing shafts until special tool  11 9 330  can be
pushed from inlet side onto end.

Remove special tool  11 9 330  again.

Version 2:

Slide in special tool 11 5 140  under balancing shafts (1) at
ground contact faces (2) as far as they will go (3).

Balancing shafts (1) are now secured.

Remove special tool  11 5 140  again.

Version 3:

Installation:

Align balance weights of balancing shafts.

Both balance weights point to oil sump.

Slide in special tool 11 8 700 at ground surfaces of balancing
shafts.

Balancing shafts (1) are now secured.

Do not remove special tool 11 8700 until oil pump gear is
secured.

Note:

Only Version 3 is available in the BMW Parts Catalogue!

Attach sprocket wheel (5) to oil pump shaft until it is secured in
toothing. Remove special tool  11 3 340 .
