3 Series E46 316i (N46) SAL
Note:
Installation of torsion spring is described on 4th cylinder.
The same procedure is applicable to cylinders 1 to 3.
Place special tool 11 9 390 on bearing bracket.
Note:
Do not tighten down nut (1), install without play only.
Secure special tool 11 9 390 with nut (1).
Install torsion spring (1).
Make sure special tool 11 9 390 is secured in retaining plate as
illustrated.
Pretension torsion spring (1) by carefully and slowly closing pliers
on special tool 11 9 390 .
Align bore (1) with special tool 11 9 390 to thread.
