Removing and installing engine (N40 / N42 /
N45 / N46)
Special tools required:
•
11 0 070
Necessary preliminary tasks:
•
Disconnect battery, refer to instructions for disconnecting and
connecting battery.
•
Remove transmission.
•
Detach A/C compressor and tie up to one side (A/C lines
remain connected).
•
Remove holder for A/C lines.
•
Disconnect plug connections from engine wiring harness to
electronics box.
•
Remove intake air manifold.
•
Remove fuel rail.
•
Remove fan cowl.
•
Disconnect line from tank venting valve (tank side).
•
Detach all water hoses.
N42/N46 only:
•
Remove oxygen control sensors.
•
Remove oxygen monitor sensor after primary catalytic
converter.
Open coolant drain plug (1) on radiator (2). Drain and dispose of
coolant.
Detach water hoses from cylinder head and from branch flange.
Installation:
Vent cooling system and check for leaks.
