Replacing rear lid
Special tools required:
•
41 5 060
Note:
When replacing the rear lid, it is necessary to adjust the rear lid to
fit without the rear window. Special tool 41 5 060 is required for
this purpose.
Gap dimensions E 46 compact serve as basis for adjustment.
Remove spring elements (1) on rear lid hinge.
Remove shock absorber (2).
Close trunk lid.
Even out rear lid at sides and initially tighten nuts on hinge (1), do
not tighten down fully.
