3 Series E46 318d (M47TU) SAL
Crank engine at central bolt twice in direction of rotation until first
cylinder is nearly in firing TDC position again.
Crank engine in direction of rotation up to TDC position.
Caution!
Do not crank engine back.
Secure crankshaft in TDC position with special tool 11 2 300 .
Place special tool 11 6 320 without holder also illustrated on
inlet camshaft.
Note:
Special tool 11 6 320 must rest without a gap on cylinder
head.
Place special tool 11 6 320 without holder also illustrated on
exhaust camshaft.

Special tool 11 6 320 must rest without a gap on cylinder
head.
