To vertically adjust rear window, slacken lock nut (2) and turn
striker (1).

Tighten lock nut again.

Adjustment of side buffers:

Adjustable buffers are adjusted from passenger compartment.

Close trunk lid.

Note:

For purposes of clarity, D-pillar panel is shown removed.

If necessary, release lock nut (1) of adjustable buffer.

Nut (3) of guide of adjustable buffer remains tightened down.

Use Allen key to bring adjustable buffer (2) into contact with rear
lid and then pretension by 1.0 turns.

Tighten down lock nut of adjustable buffer again.

Tightening torque of lock nut (1) of adjustable buffer,

refer to Technical Data 41 62 4AZ.

Tightening torque of nut (2) of guide of adjustable buffer,

refer to Technical Data 41 62 3AZ.

Note:

If the pretension results in poor rear lid closing comfort, the
pretension can be turned back to 0.5 turns.

However, in this case, ensure the rear lid does not cause any
noises when the engine is idling (particular attention paid to
diesel models).
