3 Series E46 318ti (N42) COMP
Note:
For purposes of clarity, the pairing letters (1) are shown on the
removed conrod.
Important!
Conrod and bearing cap are identified with pairing letters (1)
and must not be mixed up.
Lubricate conrod bearing shells.
Fit bearing caps (2) so that pairing letters match up.
Install new conrod bolts (1).
Important!
Old version conrod bolts M9 (E12 A/F).
New version conrod bolts M8 (E10 A/F).
Mixing up the conrod bolts will result in engine damage (risk
of damage).
Tighten down conrods with special tool 00 9 120 .
Tightening torque 11 24 1AZ

Install cylinder head.
Installation and adjustment of the balancer shafts is described in
the section Removing and installing oil pump.
Install oil pump balancing shaft unit.
Adjust balancing shafts.
Assemble engine.
