Replacing alternator drive belt
(N40/N42/N45/N46)
Special tools required:
•
11 3 340
Necessary preliminary tasks:
•
Remove intake hood.
Note:
If reusing drive belt:
Mark direction of travel and reinstall drive belt in same
direction of travel.
Pretension drive belt tensioning device at screw (1) as far as it
will go and lock with special tool 11 3 340 .
Important!
Tensioning device for drive belt is under high spring pressure.
Press special tool 11 3 340 in as far as possible.
Remove drive belt.
Installation:
Check drive belt for coolant and oil residues, replace if necessary.
If contaminated with hydraulic fluid: Replace drive belt.
