3 Series E46 318ti (N42) COMP
Release screws (1).
Important!
Balancing shaft oil pump unit (3) must be held in place by a
second person before screws (2) are released.
Release screws (2).
Note:
Chain tensioner (7) of oil pump chain is secured with a locating
pin (6).
When removing balancing shaft oil pump unit (3), make sure
locating pin (6) is not tilted.
Lift balancing shaft oil pump unit (3) off crankcase until adapter
sleeves is no longer secured.
Remove balancing shaft oil pump unit (3) towards rear.
Check adapter sleeves (1) for damage and correct installation
position, replace if necessary.
