3 Series E46 318ti (N42) COMP
Installation:
Grease clutch between power steering pump and water pump.
Align clutch of water pump to drive of power steering pump.
Connect water pump and power steering pump.
Installation:
Insert screws from front through belt pulley of power steering
pump and tighten to initial torque of approx. 5 Nm.
The screws are only tightened down fully after the power steering
pump has been screwed down to the engine block.
Installation:
A gaiter (2) acting as a dust seal is installed between O-
rings (1). Clean or replace dust seal.
Replace O-rings (1) on connecting piece.
Coat O-rings (1) with coolant as antiseize agent.
Preassemble connecting piece in water pump.
Assemble engine.
Vent cooling system and check for leaks.
