Replacing exhaust camshaft pulse generator
(N42, N40, N46, N45)
Necessary preliminary tasks:
•
Read out fault memory of DME control unit
•
Switch off ignition
•
E46, E87, E90 only:
Remove intake hood.
•
E83 only: Remove intake duct
If necessary, release cable duct on N46.
Release screw on pulse generator (1).
Unlock and disconnect plug connection of pulse generator (1).
Remove pulse generator (1).
Installation:
Check sealing ring of pulse generator for possible damage,
replace if necessary.
Replace screw on pulse generator (1).
Note:
Check stored fault messages.
Now clear the fault memory.
