3 Series E46 318ti (N42) COMP
Unlock plug on solenoid valve for exhaust side on VANOS adjustment unit and
disconnect
Unlock plug on positioning motor of eccentric shaft and disconnect
N42 only:
Unlock plug on eccentric shaft sensor and disconnect
N42 only:
Unlock plug on throttle potentiometer and disconnect
Unlock plug connections in electronics box and disconnect:
•
on control unit
•
on DME relay
•
Remove electronics box
cover
•
Do not remove control
unit.
Detach sealing strip (1).
Installation:
Ensure profile seals are correctly positioned.
N42 only:
Unlock plug connections (1 and 2) and disconnect.
Detach negative lead (3) from body.
N42 only:
Fold cover upwards and unhook.
Remove plastic rivets.
