3 Series E46 318ti (N42) COMP
Lower transmission until cylinder head touches firewall.
Attach special tool 11 8 022 to left and right control arms (1).
Important!
Position special tool 11 8 022 in such a way that engine oil
sump (2) rests safely on special tool 11 8 022 .
Tighten down knurled screws until special tool 11 8 022 rests
against engine oil sump (2).
Do not damage oil level sensor.
To secure engine: Insert wooden wedge (1) between engine oil
sump (2) and steering gear (3).
Unlock plug (1) and remove.
Unclip cable from transmission housing.
Release screw (1).
Pull hydraulic lines (2) to transmission fluid cooler out of
transmission housing.
Installation:
Replace sealing rings.
