Drawing off fuel:
Important!
Feed line is pressurized (5 bar).
Reduce pressure in feed line (see above).
Important!
Only draw off fuel from the tank if the tank has been removed
from the car.
Always remove and install fuel tank with a suitable tool. Tank
weighs approx. 100 kg when full!
Draining removed fuel tank:
The fuel tank can be drawn off while remove via the filler pipe.
Use a suitable extractor unit for drawing off, refer to BMW
Workshop Equipment.
Use only the new extraction hose with the red marking on the end
of the hose.
Insert extraction hose into fuel filler pipe. Draw off right tank half.
To draw off the left side of the fuel tank, tilt the tank so that the
fuel flows into the right tank half. The fuel can now continue to be
drawn off.
Important!
Observe relevant country safety legislation and regulations.
Catch escaping fuel in suitable container.
Ensure adequate ventilation in the place of work!
Risk of explosion!
Do not use naked flames in the vicinity!
Fuel filling:
Slide extraction hose of extractor unit approx. 40 cm into fuel
filler pipe.
Fill fuel from extractor unit.
