Removing and installing/replacing exhaust
turbocharger
Warning!
Scalding hazard!
Only perform these tasks on an engine that has cooled down.
Necessary preliminary tasks:
•
Remove acoustic cover.
•
Remove fan cowl.
•
Remove air cleaner.
•
Remove EGR heat exchanger.
•
Remove exhaust system.
•
Remove right pressure pipe.
E60 / E61 with diesel particulate filter only:
Disconnect plug connection (1) and unclip plug housing.
Slide pressure sensor (2) out of holder and place to one side.
Unclip both retaining tabs through openings (1) and remove
retaining plate (2) in upward direction.
