3 Series E46 330d (M57) TOUR
Release nut (1) on starter motor.
Installation:
Tightening torque, 12 41 4AZ.
Detach positive lead (2) of auxiliary heater from starter motor.
Disconnect battery positive lead (3) from starter motor.
Remove acoustic insulation (1) from engine support arm.
Remove protective cap (1).
Release nut of battery positive lead (2) on alternator.
Installation:
Tightening torque, 12 31 1AZ.
Unclip battery positive lead (2) from holder (3).
Remove battery positive lead (2).
Note:
Read out fault memory of DDE control unit.
Check stored fault messages.
Rectify faults.
Then clear fault memory.
