Removing and installing/replacing fuel cooler
(M57)

Caution!

Turn off ignition.

Caution!

When working on the oil, coolant or fuel circuit, protect the
alternator against contamination.

Cover alternator with suitable materials.

Failure to comply with this procedure may result in an alternator
malfunction.

Recycling:

Catch and dispose of escaping fuel.

Observe country-specific waste-disposal regulations.

The work steps are described on the E46/M57.

The procedure for the E53/M57 is largely identical.
