Noises from diesel pump
E39, E46 / M57
Complaint:
Resonance noises inside the vehicle, at idling speed or when parking.
Cause:
The diesel pump causes noises which are transmitted through the floor and into the vehicle
interior.
Affected
vehicles:
E39 M57: start of series production until May 2001.
E46 M57: start of series production until April 2001.
Procedure:
In case of customer complaint, replace the diesel pump for the modified version as
described below:

The diesel pump used to date can still be obtained from the parts sales
department.
