3 Series E46 330xd (M57) SAL
Release screws on oil-water heat exchanger (1).
Remove oil-water heat exchanger (1) from oil-filter housing (2).
Replace profile seals (1) on oil filter housing (2).
Installation:
Clean all sealing surfaces.
Caution!
In order to avoid damage to the engine caused by coolant
admixture in the engine oil, it is absolutely essential after
completing work to drain and change the engine oil at the
engine oil drain plug.
Failure to comply with this procedure may result in serious
engine damage.
Add final details to vehicle.
Start engine and run at idle speed until oil indicator lamp goes out.
Switch off engine, wait 10 minutes and then check engine oil level.
Top up engine oil if necessary.
