Recycling:
Catch and dispose of escaping fuel.
Observe country-specific waste-disposal regulations.

Removing and installing intake air manifold.
Drain off coolant (from radiator only).
E46 only:
Remove fan cowl.
Remove coolant expansion tank.
All models:
Release screws (1).
Disconnect water hoses from return pipe (2).
Disconnect return pipe (2).
Follow instructions for working on cooling system,
refer to 17 00 ...
Detach plug (1) from pressure regulator of H.P. pump.
Release clamps (3).
Detach fuel feed and return hose (2) of H.P. pump.
Installation:
Replace clamps (3).
