Checking camshaft timing (M57TU)
Special tools required:
•
11 2 300
•
11 6 321
•
11 6 480
Necessary preliminary tasks:
•
Remove cylinder head.
Crank engine at front vibration damper with special tool
11 6 480 in direction of rotation until first cylinder is in firing TDC
position.
Note:
Illustrations show M57.
The cams on the camshafts (1) of the 1st cylinder point in the
direction of travel to the right.
