Replacing both gaiters on left and right of
output shaft
Remove and install output shaft.
Use rubber gaiter repair kit.
Clean output shaft.
Grip output shaft in vise with protective jaws.
Release hose clips (1) and (2).
Pull back rubber gaiter (3).
Caution!
In order to avoid output shaft out-of-balance during operation,
make sure constant velocity joint is reinstalled in same position.
Therefore: Mark relative position of transmission-side constant
velocity joint to section tube with a suitable felt-tip pen.
Withdraw constant velocity joint (1) from section tube (2).
Pull off rubber gaiters (1) and (2) over splined shaft.
Carefully clean all parts with a cloth.
Note:
Check constant velocity joint for damage.
Length of gaiter (1) 65 mm.
Length of gaiter (2) 55 mm.
