Removing and installing, sealing or replacing
exhaust manifold (N43)
Necessary preliminary tasks:
•
Remove underbody protection
•
Remove exhaust system.
•
Remove right engine support arm
•
Release expansion tank
Unscrew bolts (1).
Release clamp (1) of exhaust gas recirculation pipe and remove.
Installation:
Replace gasket between exhaust gas recirculation pipe and
manifold.
First secure clamp (1) before fitting manifold on cylinder head.
Tightening torque, 11 71 4AZ.
Unclip cables (1) of control sensors from retaining fixtures.
Unfasten plug connection.
Release nuts, remove exhaust manifold (2) from cylinder head.
Note:
Various add-on parts are removed for clearer illustration.
Installation:
Clean sealing faces. Replace seal.
Coat stud threads with copper paste.
Replace nuts.
