3 Series E90 320i (N46) SAL
Remove all special tools.
Crank engine at central bolt twice in direction of rotation until
engine returns to firing TDC position of 1st cylinder.
Resecure flywheel.
Fit special tool 11 9 292 on inlet camshaft and check timing
adjustment.
Note:
The timing is correctly adjusted when the special tool 11 9 292
rests without any gap on the cylinder head or is raised up to
0.5 mm to inlet side.
Turn back special tool 11 9 293 .
Fit special tool 11 9 291 on exhaust camshaft and check timing
adjustment.
Note:
The timing is correctly adjusted when the special tool 11 9 291
rests without any gap on the cylinder head or is raised up to
1.0 mm to inlet side.
Remove all special tools.
Assemble engine.
