Various unwanted noises in the luggage compartment - General repair instructions

Situation:

When driving on an uneven road surface, various unwanted noises may occur from the
area of the luggage compartment.

Affected vehicles:

E91 
Manufacturing period: start of series production until today

Action:

In case of customer complaint, remedial measures must be taken at the points on the
vehicle listed below. These serve both to eliminate existing unwanted noise and to prevent
any other unwanted noise from arising.

A)  Rear window frame

- 

Transitions in rear window frame cover 
(manufacturing period: start of series production until today)

B)  C-pillar

- 

Cover of inertia reel seat belt 
(manufacturing period: Start of series production until week 42/2007)

- 

C-pillar trim fixture 
(manufacturing period: start of series production until today)

C)  Combination roller

- 

Left and right-hand combination roller fixtures 
(manufacturing period: start of series production until today)

D)  Luggage compartment trim

- 

Trunk lid locking wedge, left 
(manufacturing period: start of series production until today)

E)  Battery

- 

Battery bracket screws 
(manufacturing period: start of series production until today)

- 

Rotary catches for battery cover 
(manufacturing period: start of series production until today)

F)  Only SA 0418 - variable floor

- 

Cover mountings for variable floor

Note:

For the "luggage compartment trim", a fault diagnosis tree has been created that
deals with areas of mechanical issues. With immediate effect, this can be called
up via diagnosis (DIS tester, GT1) and currently includes all known issues up to
the publication of the latest DIS update (DVD).

The fault diagnosis tree in the DIS tester or in the GT1 can be found as follows
