Special tool for adjusting windscreen wipers

E90 and E91

Situation: 

The contact angle between the wiper blade and the window must be correctly set to prevent
poor wiping results. A prerequisite is a wiper blade that is not worn. The blade is adjusted at
the wiper arm, please refer to relevant Repair Instructions.

With the introduction of the new generation of wiper blades (also known as aero wiper
blades) on the E90 and E91, the test gauges (00 9 230 and 00 9 330) used to date can
no longer be used to measure the angle. These wiper blades / wiper arms have no locating
surfaces for the test gauges.

For this reason, a protractor is needed to accurately read off the angle. The blade is set
with a special tool that matches the geometry of the wiper arm.

The protractor can also be used to measure the angle of the wiper blades on older E model
series. The protractor is designed so that it will also be able to be used for future wiper
systems. The angles are described in the relevant Repair Instructions.

Procedure:

Offer tools will be sent to every contractual partner with a tools agreement.
