Brace for removing rivets from head-level airbag
E92
Situation:
The brackets for the head-level airbags on the E92 are not bolted to the body, but rather
secured using special rivets.
When removing the head-level airbag, the rivets have to be drilled. This brace has been
developed to prevent the root of the rivet from dropping into the body cavity.
The shaft of the brace is made of a flexible wire and can thus be adapted to the differing
geometry of the body cavities. This allows several rivets to be removed professionally with a
single special tool.
