Affected vehicles:

E92 
Manufacturing period: from start of series production until August 2006

Action:

in case of customer complaint, replace the belt hand-over hand on the left and right on
vehicles from the manufacturing periods listed under point A).

Important:

Partial disengaging of the belt hand-over hand is a form of trap protection and
does not constitute a functional fault.

For this reason, clipping a loose belt hand-over hand back in does not merit a
warranty application.

Procedure:

Extend belt hand-over (1) without belt
hand-over hand.

Insert new belt hand-over hand (1) in
the belt hand-over (2).

Push in new belt hand-over hand (1)
until the detent lug (3) audibly engages.

Note:

Distinguishing feature on belt
hand-over hands:

- 

Previous belt hand-over
hand (1) with a detent lug
(2) and broken-off
retainer.

- 

New belt hand-over hand
(3) with detent lug (4) and
modified retainer (5).
