A= Piloting primary coil of ignition coil from DME control unit
B= Ignition coil
C= 4a = common ground connection on secondary coils
Control Units with Fault Memory for Ignition Coil Faults:
D= Measuring resistance in common ground lead on ignition
coils. This resistance is required for fault recognition in the
secondary circuit of the ignition coils.
Caution!
Only M50 B20 only model year 1992:
To avoid destruction of the fault memory in a Siemens MS 40
engine control unit, only ignition coils from May & Christe
may be used.
If only one ignition coil is defective in the above case, all
ignition coils must be converted to those of one manufacturer
(e.g. Bosch, Bremi).
