Topping up and bleeding the cooling system, refer to Gr. 17
Check - refer to BMW Diagnosis system.
Installation:
Interrogate fault memory of DME control unit, check faults in
memory, rectify faults and clear fault memory.
Component Test:
Attach special tool 61 1 440 (Jetronic test cable).
Check nominal value with BMW Service Tester or Ohm-meter.
To check the entire temperature range, remove and submerge
sensor. Immerse in water tank up to hex head and check nominal
values,
The temperature sensor measures the engine temperature and
sends this information to the control unit as resistance value.
Resistance drops with rising temperature (NTC).
