Replacing coolant temperature sensor (DME)
(M60)

Note:

After completing work, fill and vent cooling system and
check for leaks,

refer to 17 00 039.

Coolant, 

refer to BMW Service Operating Fluids MG17.

Interrogate fault memory of DME control unit.

Switch off ignition.

Temperature sensor (1) is fitted to water box at rear.

Illustrated here on removed engine.

Unfasten plug connection (1).

Remove temperature sensor.

Tightening Torque,

refer to Technical Data 12 62 3AZ.

Installation:

Interrogate fault memory of DME control unit, check faults in
memory then cancel fault memory.
