Rear brake disk
850CSiE34/M5E38/750iA
Situation:
The brake linings on the parking brake are worn-out or the lining has come away entirely
from the brake shoe.
This fault can only arise if the vehicle has been driven with the parking brake on.
Effect:
The ventilated brake disk is permanently deformed by the generated heat and is completely
unservicable afterwards.
Affected
vehicles:
E31/850CSi, E34/M5, E38/750iA
Procedure:
If the brake lining on the parking brake is worn-out or has come away entirely (reference to
driving with the parking brake applied), the brake disks should always be replaced.
Please refer to Repair Instructions 34 21 320.
The customer should be charged for any material and labour costs incurred. It is not
possible to make a claim for reimbursement under warranty in this instance.
