5 Series E39 520d (M47) SAL
Caution!
The air duct can break at the firewall if not carefully removed
and installed.
Release retaining clips (1).
Carefully turn air duct (2) counterclockwise until it is no longer
secured to firewall.
Pull air duct forwards and remove towards top.
Release screw of rear acoustic cover to intake air manifold.
Disconnect plug (1) from charge-air pressure sensor.
Note:
Illustration here shows suction tube on EGR valve removed. Do
not remove suction tube on EGR valve.
Release EGR valve from intake air manifold.
