5 Series E39 520d (M47) TOUR
Release screws (1).
Tightening torque, 12 90 4AZ.
Remove electronics box cover (2).
Release retainers (2) on strip (3).
Remove strip (3) towards top.
Release nut (4) and disconnect grounding cable.
Disconnect plug (1) on DDE control unit.
Disconnect plug connection (3).
Disconnect remaining plug-in connections of wiring harness
section for engine in electronics box.
Remove wiring harness section (5) for engine from electronics
box.
Release retaining clips (1).
Caution!
The air duct can brake at the firewall if not carefully removed
and installed.
Carefully twist air duct (2) upwards until it is no longer locked in
firewall. Pull air duct (2) forwards and remove towards top.
