Tape off sealing flange twice with fabric adhesive tape (1) (risk of
damage).

Push in special tool 51 2 153  (film).

Remove retaining disk (2).

Installation:

Fit new retaining disk.

Note:

After the gas spring strut has been disconnected, secure the trunk
lid to prevent it from dropping (risk of injury and damage).

When dismantling the pin (1), pull trunk lid slightly up and down.

Pull out pin (1) of gas spring strut (2).

Installation:

Install new pin (2).

Only on left side on version with hydraulic cylinder:

Insert special tool 51 2 151  and slide over gas spring strut (1)
until pin (2) is located in pin boss (3).

Insert special tool 51 2 151  and slide over gas spring strut (1)
until pin (2) is located in pin boss (3).
