Note:

The operation "Removing or replacing cover (gas spring strut
for rear window)" ends here.

Tape sealing flange twice with fabric adhesive tape (1) (danger of
damage).

Push in special tool 51 2 153 (film).

Remove retaining disk (2).

Installation:

Fit new retaining disk.

Note:

After disconnecting gas spring strut,

secure trunk lid against dropping down 

(risk of injury and damage).

While removing gas spring strut (3), press tailgate up and
down somewhat.

Pull off gas spring strut (3).

Slide special tool 51 2 152 over gas spring strut until marking (1)
lines up with pin (2).
