5 Series E39 523i (M52) TOUR
Unfasten screws.
Pull transmission of engine towards rear and lower.
Installation:
Tightening Torque,
refer to Technical Data 24 00 1AZ.
Installation:
Only install bolts (1) with narrow shoulder with washers.
Install bolts (2) with wide collar without washers.
Installation:
Raise automatic transmission until bore on spline is reached.
Carefully insert transmission in bore of spline with special tool
24 2 300.
Attach transmission case to engine flange.
Pull special tool 24 2 300 forwards to remove it from tab.
Installation:
Note dowel sleeves (1 and 2).
If necessary, remove dowel sleeves from transmission case and
mount new dowel sleeves in engine block.
