Re complaint 2:

a)

No further measures are necessary in the case of vehicles which have already had a
new windscreen frame fitted in connection with complaint 1. There are only 12 slots on
the right-hand A-pillar on the new windscreen frame. 

b)

If complaint 1 is not relevant, please adopt the following procedure: 

-

Mask the windscreen frame adjacent to the A-pillar (right-hand side only) with
adhesive tape and check for wind noise again.

If this measure reduces the level of wind noise, seal off the bars between the
holes with terostat starting at the twelfth slot from the top of the right-hand A-pillar.
This can be done by moulding the terostat into little balls 3 mm in diameter and
then pushing them in between the bars through the slots using a suitable tool,
such as a small screwdriver, for instance (arrowed in figure 2).

Notes:

-

The left-hand side of the vehicle does not require modifying as this increases the
amount of dirt thrown up the door window

As from week 05/96 an optimized windscreen frame with only 12 slots in the right-
hand A-pillar has been fitted in series production
