5 Series E39 523i (M52TU) TOUR
For vehicles without slide/tilt sunroof:
Insert butylene tape in recess for water drainage pipe and body,
then seal with
Sikaflex 255 FC windshield cement, refer to BMW Parts Service.
Note:
Reinforcement plate between door column and wheel arch
removed
Direction of view from below into area of support girder / door
column.
1 = recess for water drainage pipe
2 = door column
3 = closing plate on door column
Seal carefully to prevent water from entering the inside of the
vehicle!
On vehicles with slide/tilt sunroof:
Insert butylene tape between water drainage pipe and body, then
seal with
Sikaflex 255 FC windshield cement, refer to BMW Parts Service.
Note:

3 = closing plate on door column
Seal carefully to prevent water from entering the inside of the
vehicle!
Install reinforcement plate between wheel arch and door column
and weld up.
Grind down all connection points and seal.
