Replacing fuel pressure regulator (M54)
Caution!
The fuel in the fuel lines is under pressure (approx. 3 - 5
bar)! Catch and dispose of escaping fuel.
Switch off ignition.
Release screws (1).
Press cover (2) on underbody downwards.
Disconnect vacuum hose.
Pull out locking bracket (1) in direction of arrow.
Remove fuel pressure regulator (2).
Catch and dispose of escaping fuel.
Installation:
Check O-rings (1) of fuel pressure regulator for damage and
replace if necessary.
Apply a thin coat of petroleum jelly to O-rings (1) of fuel pressure
regulator.
