Removing and installing/replacing shift unit
(A5S 325Z)
Note:
After completing work, top up ATF level.
Check/top up fluid level in automatic transmission,
refer to 00 11 500.
Remove and install transmission sump,
refer to 24 11 003.
Remove and install/replace transmission fluid screen,
refer to 24 31 151.
It is absolutely essential to use the approved automatic
transmission fluid in this automatic transmission,
refer to BMW Operating Fluids MG 24.
Failure to comply with this requirement will result in serious
damage to the automatic transmission.
Remove retaining clip with screwdriver (2). Insert transmission
plug (1) in transmission.
Installation:
To facilitate assembly, coat O-ring with Vaseline.
