5 Series E39 525i (M54) SAL
Expose connection points of roof gutter,
lamp carrier and
rear apron.
Place spot welds along gutter in such a way that a continuous
seam is created.
Caution!
Locate welding spots in a way which prevents distortion
caused by heat elongation. Ensure that welded areas have
cooled sufficiently.
Danger of distortion!
Grind down welded surfaces.
Straighten welding surfaces if necessary, tin out roof gutter and
grind down.
Tin out connection point on side panel and grind down.
Tin out connecting point between side panel / rear apron and grind
down.
Pull joint surface!
