Idling vibrations when vehicle is stationary
E36/E38/E39 with M51
Situation:
After aggressive driving or after driving in "stop-and-go" traffic with high coolant and fuel
temperatures, low-frequency vibrations may occur when the above vehicles are stationary
and the engine is at idling speed.
Affected
vehicles:
E38/E39 with M51
Manufacturing period: Start of series production to November 1998
E36 with M51
Manufacturing period: January 1996 to October 1999
Procedure:
With immediate effect, you are requested to consult with the responsible hotline as to the
procedure to be followed in case of such complaints.
