5 Series E39 525tds (M51) TOUR
Unfasten shock absorber from swinging arm.
Installation:
Guide bush (1) into hole on swinging arm.
Tightening Torque,
refer to Technical Data 33 52 1AZ.
Remove stabilizer link (1).
Installation:
Replace nut (3). Use washer (2).
Tightening Torque,
refer to Technical Data 33 55 2AZ.
Mark position of eccentric screw on rear axle carrier with colored
spots.
This simplifies the subsequent task of adjusting toe when the old
swinging arm is reinstalled.
Unfasten disc collar nut (1) and pull out eccentric bolt.
Installation:
Replace disc collar nut (1) and install with eccentric washer
(2).
Tightening Torque,
refer to Technical Data 33 32 20AZ.
Caution!
Check correct position of eccentric support (3) on both sides.
The spigots must lie in the holes of the rear axle carrier.
Replace damaged eccentric supports.
