5 Series E39 525tds (M51) TOUR
Close luggage compartment lid; the bracket of the lateral guide on
the body and the lateral guide on the luggage compartment lid are
centered with respect to each other.
The bracket of the lateral guide continues to touch against the
body without clearance as does the lateral guide against the
luggage compartment lid.
Open trunk lid.
Tighten released bracket screws on lateral guide on body.

Adjustment of preload of trunk lid lateral guides:
Adjust preload of trunk lid by adjusting lateral guides.
To adjust preload, remove one tooth from catch and retighten
screw.

Adjustment of rear window:
Prerequisite:
Trunk lid is correctly adjusted.
Close luggage compartment lid and open rear window frame.
Loosen nuts on rear window frame of left and right hinge bracket
to the point where the rear window frame can still just be moved.
