Affix the new expanding foam strip (4) over the gap (1) between the sound proofing (2) and
the metal cowl (3), working from left to right.
Enough space must be allowed in the middle between the expanding foam strip (4) and the
spacer (5) for the adhesive strip.
Notes:
a)
The expanding foam strip must be used within one hour of opening the
packaging.
The expanding foam strip does not provide a perfect seal until 24 hours after it
has been applied.
b)
When fitting the new windscreen, it is essential a gap (measurement A) is left
between the glass and the roof skin (please refer to Figure 3). This is the only
way of guaranteeing a properly tensioned sealing lip along the edge of the roof
(to avoid wind noise).
A special tool (gauge) for checking this measurement will be presented in a later
Service Information bulletin.
