Checking a valve guide for wear (M57)
Special tools required:
•
00 2 510
(valve removed)
To measure tilt clearance, install a new valve so that end of valve
stem is flush with valve guide.
Fit special tool 00 2 510 (dial gauge) and measure tilt
clearance.
Max. permitted tilt clearance:
Refer to Technical Data.
Note:
Cylinder head and valves must be replaced if tilt clearance is
too great.
