5 Series E39 530d (M57) SAL
Unscrew bolt (1).
Detach battery positive lead (2) at retaining clip (3).
Release level sensor line at oil measuring tube.
Remove oil measuring tube (4).
Installation:
Replace O-ring. Apply a thin coat of petroleum jelly to O-ring
prior to installation.
Assemble special tool 00 0 200 with special tools 00 0 201 /
00 0 202 / 00 0 204 / 00 0 208 and install.
Attach special tool 00 0 200 to front engine suspension eye.
Note:
Supports (1) of special tool 00 0 208 must rest on bolts of
both side walls.
Caution!
In the following work step, do not under any circumstances
exceed the specified lifting height.
Raise engine 20 mm.
Release screws (1) and expansion rivets on left and right of car.
Remove axle covers (3) on both sides.
